I earned my bachelor's degree at the University of West Florida in the field of Molecular Biology. I have worked as a high school teacher for seven years, during which I've taught Physical Science, Biology, Physiology, and Anatomy. I am certified with the Board of Education in the state of Florida. I have also gone through a number of graduate courses to improve my teaching skills. Teaching fulfills me in that it allows me to see many different types of minds who all have the potential to master the material, as well as go on to do great things in their lives. I see my job as a teacher as being able to identify the way each individual student learns and tailor my lessons to relate to them personally and show them how much Science impacts their day-to-day life. The most rewarding part of the experience for me is that moment when everything clicks and a student suddenly understands something that they had previously been struggling with. In addition to Science, I am certified to teach students how to better understand reading text. In my free time, I enjoy spending a lot of my time outdoors hiking, fishing, scuba diving, and boating.
